Praveen Prasath is a Deputy Manager at Renault Nissan Tech, specializing in the modelling and simulation of automotive powertrain systems. His interests lie in modelling and simulation of Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), hybrid, and electric powertrains, ADAS & AD, with a strong focus on data analytics and AI. He is passionate about applying AI techniques to assist, accelerate and strengthen the traditional powertrain simulation ecosystem. His current research interests are deep reinforcement learning (DRL) for vehicle control and physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) to solve CFD problems.

This research explores deep learning models to predict the aging and sudden death behavior of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), critical for automotive energy systems. Traditional models struggle with LIB aging complexity, while DL models like LSTM, GRU, TCN, and Transformers effectively forecast capacity degradation and unexpected failures. Using data from 124 cells with diverse lifetimes, advanced data practices enhanced model accuracy. Metrics like RMSE and R² validated performance, highlighting DL's potential in improving LIB management and automotive system reliability.
