Varun Aggarwal

With over 14 years of experience in consulting and advanced analytics, Varun has solved complex problems for Fortune 500 companies across banking, telecom and utility sectors. He is serving as Vice President at EXL Analytics, leading a team of 150+ data scientists.
Varun pioneered research on machine learning at EXL a decade ago. He led a team of 20 data scientists to win Heritage Health Prize competition, securing second position among 1600 participating teams globally. Over years, he has authored several research papers in the field of predictive modeling, presented at international data analytics conferences organized by NESUG (USA), NYASUG (USA) and IIM-Ahmedabad (India). In addition, Varun has published a series of white papers on credit loss forecasting under CECL accounting standard.
Varun has innovated several model development tools such as Hill Climbing Algorithm, Super-interactions, Segmentation Recommender, Feature Clustering Enhancer and MMM Optimizer, to name a few and has led the development of analytics products for model performance monitoring and credit loss forecasting.
